COIDSA Susan Mason Education Award for ID Fellows

Dear Adult and Pediatric ID Fellows,
The Susan Mason Education Award provides support through Colorado IDSA for adult or pediatric infectious disease trainees (at the fellow level) who want to make a contribution to improve the care we provide to our community.
Dr. Susan Mason was a founding member of the Colorado IDSA and a prominent member of the local ID community. She trained in the University of Colorado Infectious Disease Fellowship Program and was strongly supportive of the educational, clinical and international experiences for ID fellows. Throughout her life, Dr. Mason was committed to patient care and social engagement.
We encourage you to apply to the fund established in her honor to support research and educational activities that will help build your expertise and career.
This one-year award reinforces the role of the Colorado IDSA as a force for productive action and change. People like Susan are best remembered if their memory inspires us to action.
Criteria for $2,500 annual award:
1) Adult or Pediatric ID fellow at University of Colorado
2) Commitment to active engagement and excellence in research, international health and/or community practice
3) Provides support for career development-related activities (e.g., travel to a specialized scientific meeting, travel for research/service in a resource-limited setting, a specific component of an ongoing research project, training and/or travel to learn a new technique or skill that will advance the fellow's career or improve clinical care in the community, educational project, etc.)
